1. Make your initial blog post for viewing assignment; storyofstuff.org before 11/13 class. Respond to at Least Two Classmates during class on 11/13.
2. Work on development of your package design piece.
If you need help with creating dielines, package forms, etc. -- Just let me know.

Post progress to your blog (use the same design brief//process template)
i.e. if doing prototypes -- take photographs of your mock up studies, if working on dielines -- post your dieline W.I.P. development...

**Please remember to keep developing your design brief/process. Every step you create (mock up studies, color studies, concepts, etc) record in your design process booklet. (So when you post your work to your blog, you should be posting layouts from your design process booklet.) If you need help with what I am relating to, just let me know.

Studio Time: 
1. Respond to at Least Two Classmates during class on 10/30.
2. Desk Crits – Discussion on Thumbnail Sketches and how you are proceeding forward. Also, Review of possible Color, Type, Pattern, and Material Studies. Remember this is all "Work in Progress" it might be a possibility that during Phase 4 you might need to rethink a different material, etc.

Homework: Work on Defining 2-3 Concepts
*Make sure your latest Design Brief is posted, as a reflection of insights/feedback received during class on Friday, 10/25.

Studio Time: Skype Lecture with Jose Garcia at 12 p.m. (He needs to reschedule.) Work on developing Design Brief layout similar to what was shared in class on Friday, 10/18. Also reference examples on Blog. 

Homework: Post Design Brief to Blog before class on 10/25. Respond to at Least Two Classmates by end of class on 10/25.

Studio Time: 1. Brainstorming and development of thumbnail sketches. Exemplify numerous sketch exploration. I'm not providing a particular number this time, but it needs to be plentiful. :) 2. Begin development of color, pattern, type, and material studies.

Studio Time: Project 2 Introduction, I will share past student examples and some of my professional projects.

Store Visit: Nature's Own at 1 p.m.
Take multiple images of shelves that product sits on; perspective view and front view
Use for Research: 1st store visit – take images of shelves

Homework: Research, Gather Potential Product/Packaging Piece to Use for Project. 
*Consider how to frame the redesign aspect:
– What are the challenges in which the product & packaging must address? ...change of mode?
– Who are we communicating to? ...change of audience?
– What does the brand stand for?
– What is the Key Response we want from the product & package design?
– Any additional information that might affect the creative direction?
...shift in market (upmarket vs downmarket)

Studio Time: Come to class prepared to share/present your Work-In-Progress. As a class we will provide feedback on your video design and progress. Reference the syllabus (or me) for the expectation. 

Homework: Continue working on progress of your video.

Studio Time: Motion Graphic Video Final Presentation.
Upload your final video to ie Vimeo, YouTube and to your Facebook page.

Homework: Enjoy your evening/weekend. Next week, we start Project 2 -- Packaging!! ;)
